Taboos on Decision-Making in the Healthcare System

At the 4th Dialogue on Science, the Academia Engelberg intends to change the now familiar conference procedure. The idea is that participants should swap roles, represent opposing opinions and thus be confronted with their own taboos. Play will be used as a way of breaking through forbidden ideas and temporarily accepting unaccustomed and unusual roles. Participants will question the automatisms associated with their own position.

In a critical confrontation with one' own and other people' positions, the fields of tension encompassed by "Progress in healthcare" and the "Nature of decision making" will offer plenty of material for discussion. By way of exception, the conference this year will be held mostly in German (without translation service).
