Annina Hess (*1951 in Chur, married, 3 children) started a degree course in Law at the University of Zürich in 1971, before changing direction and obtaining a degree in Education at the College of Education in 1974. Until 1981 she was a teacher in Switzerland and in Tanzania.

From 1984 to 1986 she trained for asylum work on a course offered by the charity organization Caritas and then worked as a charity organization representative in the evaluation of applications to the federal government and the Canton Zug. After 1987, she trained in initiatic therapy, obtaining an MA in conjunction with clinical work experience in psychotherapy through art and creative expression.

In 1992 she was appointed as a psychotherapist in art and creative expression at Affoltern District Hospital. In 1995 she became Head of Psychotherapy at Affoltern District Hospital. Since 2004 she has held a part-time position at the Inselspital in Berne for the introduction of psychocardiology. Co-author of various text books.
