Christian Hess (*1950 in Zürich, married, 3 children) studied Medicine at the University of Zürich, where he qualified in 1976. In 1978 he obtained his doctorate in Medicine. Assistant in the Medical Department of Männedorf Hospital and at the University Hospital Zürich.

After a period of training in Tropical Medicine he worked in Internal Medicine and Paediatrics for two years in Tanzania. Then from 1983 to 1987 he was a Consultant at the Cantonal Hospital Zug and at the District Hospital in Affoltern.
Since 1988 Director of the Medical Department of Affoltern District Hospital. Several publica-tions and co-author of a text book. Member of various committees.
