Dr. Kathinka Evers 

Kathinka Evers (*1960) studied at the University of Lund and completed her studies in 1991 with a Doctorate in Philosophy (Ph.D.). In 1995 Associate Fellow, Balliol College, Oxford University. In 1996 Department of Philosophy and Human Rights Centre, University of Essex, Colchester.

Since 1997 extraordinary Professor and Research Director of the Department of Ethics in Biomedicine at the University of Uppsala. From 1997 to 2002 Executive Director for the Standing Committee on Responsibility and Ethics in Science (SCRES), the International Council for Science (ICSU). http://www.icsu.org. 1999: Visiting Professor at the University of Tasmania, Hobart. 2002 Visiting Professor on the Chair Condorcet at École Normale Supérieure in Paris. Coordinator for ENS’ new initiative of cross-disciplinary Ateliers Ethiques discussing ethics in the context of scientific research. Extensive scientific network developed with ENS, CNRS (Centre National de Recherche Scientifique), and Euroscience. Multidisciplinary research experience and Organizer and speaker at national/international scientific conferences.
