Hans-Ulrich Doerig

Dr. Hans-Ulrich Doerig, born in 1940, studied economics at the University of St. Gallen. After his doctorate and five years at J.P. Morgan in New York, he was active in the senior executive committees of Credit Suisse Group. As CEO he was mainly working for the reorganization and merger of Credit Suisse International and Credit Suisse Boston in 1996/97.

In 1998, he was appointed vice president of the management of Credit Suisse Group, Zurich, together with the function of Chief Risk Officer. In April 2003, the general assembly elected him vice president of the board of directors and chairman of the Risk Committee.

Since April 2009, he has been president of the board of directors and has chaired the Chairman’s and Governance Committee of the Credit Suisse AG.

During 10 years, Hans-Ulrich Doerig taught at the University of Zurich and the Swiss Banking School. He is author of numerous financial and management publications. He is member of the University Council of the University of Zurich.
