Harald Welzer

 Professor of Social Psychology

Harald Welzer, born in Bissendorf near Hannover in 1958, studied Social Psychology. He heads the research group “Interdisciplinary Brain Research” at the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities in Essen and is Professor of Social Psychology at the Universities of Hannover and Witten-Herdecke.

His main areas of research and teaching are memory and transmission research, political psychology, psychological research on holocaust and violence.
