Foundation committee Heinz Gutscher Heinz Gutscher, born in 1947, married, three adult children. He studied psychology, sociology and journalism in Zurich. He was awarded a doctorate summa cum laude in 1975. He did further studies at the Universities of Colchester, Essex (England) and Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA). In 1990, he made his post-doctoral degree and became professor for social psychology at the University of Zurich. In total, he has over 30 years of experience in several fields of social research: interdisciplinary research projects on abuse of medicine, self harm, risks and opportunities of the new means of communications and fundamental research in the field of regulation of attention processes. He was member of several scientific organizations from 1997-2004. He chaired the Swiss National IHDP Committee (International Human Dimensions Programme on Global Environmental Change) and was president of ProClim and the Swiss Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences (SAGW). |
