Prof. em. Alois Haas

Alois M. Haas was born in Zurich on 23 February 1934. Studied German, Philosophy and His-tory in Zurich, Berlin, Paris and Munich. Obtained his doctorate (Dr. phil.) in Zurich in 1963. Qualified to lecture in German in 1969. From 1969 to 1971 Associate Professor at McGill Uni-versity in Montreal.

From 1971 Extraordinary Professor and from 1974 Full Professor of German Literature from its origins until 1700 in Zurich. In 1978 was awarded an honorary doctorate in theology (Dr. theol. h.c.) by the Theology Faculty at the University of Freiburg i.Ü.
