Professor Elgar Fleisch 

  
 

Elgar Fleisch (*1968 in Bregenz) is Professor of Technology Management and Director of the Institute for Technology Management at the University of St. Gallen (HSG). After graduating from the College for Mechanical Engineering (Höhere Technische Lehranstalt für Maschinenbau) he studied Business Informatics in Vienna and obtained a doctorate in the field of Artificial Intelligence in production control from the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration in 1993.

In 1994, he joined the Institute of Information Management at the University of St. Gallen, where began his research work on the subject of Business Networking, which led in 2000 to his appointment as Lecturer in Business Administration. Today, Elgar Fleisch is researching in the field of Operations Management and the effects of Ubiquitous Computing on business. He is Research Director of the M-Lab, a joint initiative of the Swiss Federal College of Technology (ETH) Zürich and HSG, and of the Auto-ID Center at MIT. He is also co-founder of Intellion AG and member of several steering committees in research, teaching and practice.
