Prof. Georg Kohler

Georg Kohler (*1945) studied Philosophy in Zürich and Basel and Law in Zürich between 1965 and 1978. He obtained his doctorate (Dr. phil. I) in 1977 and his law degree (lic. iur.) in 1979.

From 1975 to 1980 he was Assistant in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Zürich. From 1981 to 1991 he worked as a publicist in Vienna. From 1992 to 1994 he held the Chair of Political Philosophy at the Scholl Institute of Political Science at the University of Munich.

Since 1994 he has been Professor of Philosophy at the University of Zürich with particular emphasis on political philosophy.
