6th Dialogue on Science 2007 on water Water workshop in the Sinai Peninsula During the 6th Dialogue on Science of the Academia Engelberg held in Engelberg in the year 2007, worldwide water problems were closely analyzed. A group of young scientists examined the following question: What problems can be encountered in Bolivia, Australia, Egypt and South Africa when it comes to water condi-tioning and water management? Where do we have to act and what can be improved? At the beginning of November 2008, a special workshop will take place in Egypt. Members of the International Organization Youth Encounter on Sustainability (YES) will tackle the challenges of water management in a Bedouin tent in the middle of unique ecosystem of the Sinai de-sert. Young scientists from all over the world will experience the peo-ple’s creative management of the available water in the UNESCO World Heritage site of Wadi Gharba, amongst other things. In this extraordinary workshop, the young scientists will meet personalities from the spheres of science and economy to discuss the issues and develop new approaches to solutions. Academia Engelberg has supported this workshop with the aim of integrating the projects resulting from the workshop into its programme. So far, two projects-ideas have been implemented: Ambiente de Teatro and Water 4 Schools |
