Water 4 Schools

The idea for the project “Water 4 Schools” arose – just like in the case of “Ambiente de Teatro” – at the water workshop in Sinai. The workshop was launched on the occasion of the 6th Dialogue on Science of the Academia Engelberg Foundation in the year 2007.

The project is aimed at demonstrating that children can profit more from school thanks to the use of rain water tanks and optimized installations.

In many developing countries, students lose a lot of time in carrying water for school activities. That is the reason why twelve schools in Kenya will receive water tanks. The project which has been initiated by the YES Group Africa has several objectives: On one hand, teachers, parents and members of the community should learn how to install and handle rain water tanks and use them at their home. On the other hand, knowledge regarding drinking water is transferred and education becomes more efficient.
